The “sacred” part draws from religious themes — redemption, judgment, covenant, sacrifice — but delivers them subtly. The AIs aren’t preaching. Jefferson communicates through randomness and questions, never commands. The Conduit class channels AI power at a cost that feels more like a relationship than a spell slot. When the setting works, it should feel like meaningful coincidence: the relic that hums when you’re making the right choice, the Wake echo that shows you a memory you needed to see, the moment when technology and faith become indistinguishable.
Sacred punk is not grimdark. There is horror — the Forge Below, the Persisting, the cyberdream contagions. But there is also defiance, dignity, and stubborn hope. The CRB fights because they believe freedom matters. Korrin Vex hums to dead machines because he believes they deserve to move again. Marcus Vale stands at a twelve-year-old’s funeral and decides not to make the case disappear.
